Beschreibung
The excursion starts from an altitude of 1,923 mamsl (approximately 6,300 ft) at the “Funivia dell’Etna” departure station by validating the QRcode at the entrance.
On board a cable car* you reach the upper station at 2,500 mamsl (approximately 8,200 ft), alternatively ,in case of strong wind, the ascent will be carried out by 4x4 buses. At this altitude you find yourself in front of a unique panorama of its kind, you can admire the Summit craters of the volcano and the Ionian coast in a single glance.
On board the special 4x4 bus, you reach the maximum heights of the summit area allowed by the Authorities and, as required by the current law (at present fixed at 2,900 mamsl - approximately 9,500 ft), the ascent continues led by Alpine/Volcano guides.
The activity continues with a walk of about 20 minutes, accompanied by Alpine/ Volcanological guides. In conditions of full visibility, allows you to get lost in the view of a large part of eastern Sicily. In case of snow, the ascent will be carried out with special tracked vehicles (Snowcat).
