After pick-up from your accommodation (or a nearby meeting point), you will head toward Rifugio Sapienza, stopping at panoramic viewpoints along the way. Your guide will introduce you to Mount Etna’s recent volcanic activity and unique geological features.
Upon arrival at Rifugio Sapienza (1,920 m), you will decide together with your guide how to continue your half-day experience:
- Guided walk in Etna Park – a scenic hike at around 2,000 meters above sea level, along evocative trails crossing extinct craters and lava flows. This immersive walk enriches your understanding of the volcano through engaging stories and scientific insights.

The tasting begins with extra virgin olive oil made from Nocellara dell’Etna olives, followed by three flavored oils. You will then enjoy a rich platter of traditional cured meats, Sicilian cheeses served with artisanal jams, local preserves and fried specialties. Tour Etna and Alcantara
The tour then continues to the Alcantara River, walking along small trails and cultivated fields until you reach the Gurne, natural pools carved by water, along with lakes and waterfalls surrounded by lush vegetation. Along the way, you can also admire the ruins of Francavilla Castle, blending nature, history, and tradition.
