Meet your guide on Etna at 1,900 m.
After a short briefing with the volcanologist, take the cable car up to 2,500 m.
Begin your ascent to explore the 2002/2003 eruption crater in a dramatic, almost lunar landscape.
Continue to the base of the Barbagallo Craters (~2,800 m), a panoramic viewpoint with views of Taormina, Siracusa, and the Summit Craters, often releasing gas and steam.
Trek further along recent lava flows to around 3,000 m, reaching the famous “Torre del Filosofo” with a snack break.
Difficulty: Medium. Requires walking on uneven terrain and uphill stretches.
Not recommended for those with vertigo, a sedentary lifestyle, or children under 8.
Prohibited for anyone with cardiovascular or serious health conditions.

By choosing this option, you will take the cable car, followed by an off-road minibus that will take you up to 2,900 m (9,514 ft) above sea level. From here, accompanied by a certified alpine/volcanology guide, you will continue on foot to the highest allowed altitudes (depending on volcanic activity). At this height, you will have the opportunity to walk up to the spectacular summit of Etna, admiring the active craters up close in all their majestic beauty: Bocca Nuova, Voragine, Southeast Crater, and Northeast Crater.

- Comfortable clothes (suitable to the season). At high altitudes the temperature can be even 10-20° cooler than the city.
